More about Paoli Paoli is a census-designated place located in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, and is considered to be the largest town in that township. As of the 2000 census, it had a total population of 5,425. Paoli Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 5,425 people, 2,361 households, and 1,437 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 1,047.3/km² (2,710.2/mi²). There are 2,468 housing units at an average density of 476.5/km² (1,233.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 90.93% White, 5.36% African American, 0.09% Native American, 2.64% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.39% from other races, and 0.57% from two or more races. 0.85% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 2,361 households out of which 24.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.0% are married couples living together, 7.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.1% are non-families. 32.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.24 and the average family size is 2.89. In the CDP the population is spread out with 20.2% under the age of 18, 4.7% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 25.0% from 45 to 64, and 18.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 89.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.2 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $55,800, and the median income for a family is $69,519. Males have a median income of $46,536 versus $34,702 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $30,570. 4.7% of the population and 3.6% of families are below the poverty line.
