Robbinsville Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 747 people, 346 households, and 207 families residing in the town. The population density is 640.9/km² (1,663.4/mi²). There are 393 housing units at an average density of 337.2/km² (875.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 94.38% White, 0.00% African American, 4.42% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.54% from other races, and 0.67% from two or more races. 0.67% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 346 households out of which 27.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.6% are married couples living together, 16.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.9% are non-families. 38.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 19.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.14 and the average family size is 2.85. In the town the population is spread out with 24.8% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 18.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 92.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 80.1 males. The median income for a household in the town is $14,688, and the median income for a family is $21,705. Males have a median income of $16,912 versus $14,886 for females. The per capita income for the town is $10,275. 34.5% of the population and 26.5% of families are below the poverty line.
