More about Mills River Mills River is a town located in Henderson County, North Carolina. It lies in the western part of the county, near Etowah and Fletcher. It is home to approximately 6,000 people, and it was incorporated into a city in 2003, mostly thanks to the efforts of fireman Ralph Snyder, who is now the current mayor. Mills River is the second largest town in Henderson County, and it is home to one river, the Mills River, and two schools, Mills River Elementary and Glenn C. Marlow Elementary.
