The village is located within Manchester Township. Manchester Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,160 people, 900 households, and 584 families residing in the village. The population density is 463.3/kmÂ² (1,201.8/miÂ²). There are 949 housing units at an average density of 203.6/kmÂ² (528.0/miÂ²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.24% White, 0.37% African American, 0.46% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.42% from other races, and 0.32% from two or more races. 1.48% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 900 households out of which 33.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.2% are married couples living together, 11.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.1% are non-families. 29.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.40 and the average family size is 3.00. In the village the population is spread out with 26.7% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 30.9% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 14.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 89.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.3 males. The median income for a household in the village is $46,974, and the median income for a family is $56,875. Males have a median income of $43,438 versus $27,396 for females. The per capita income for the village is $24,113. 5.2% of the population and 4.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 6.3% of those under the age of 18 and 6.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
