The racial makeup of the village is 87.61% White, 6.30% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 3.08% from other races, and 2.10% from two or more races. 8.07% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 3,862 households out of which 31.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.6% are married couples living together, 10.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.1% are non-families. 29.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.51 and the average family size is 3.15.
